Agreement
These Terms are a legal agreement between you and Lumina Labs Ltd (company number 17275042), registered at 1st Floor Woodgate Studios, 2-8 Games Road, Cockfosters, Hertfordshire, EN4 9HN, United Kingdom. By creating an account or using Lumina, you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use the service. If you are accepting on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you have authority to bind that organisation.
Your account
You are responsible for keeping your credentials secret, for activity that happens under your account, and for making sure your use complies with applicable law. Use a strong, unique password. You must be at least 18 and using Lumina for business purposes. Tell us promptly at legal@luminainsights.co if you believe your account has been compromised.
Acceptable use
Your use of Lumina is subject to our Acceptable Use Policy at /acceptable-use, which forms part of these Terms. In short: don't break the law, don't attack the service, don't resell access, and don't connect data you have no right to connect.
Connecting third-party platforms
Lumina reads data from platforms you connect, such as Google, Meta and Shopify. You confirm that you are authorised to access the accounts you connect and to have us process that data on your behalf. Those platforms are controlled by their own providers under their own terms. If a provider changes or withdraws its API, or suspends your access, the affected Lumina features may stop working. We will tell you when we know, but we can't guarantee continued access to data we don't control.
Plans and billing
Plans are billed monthly or annually in advance, in the currency shown at checkout. Every new account gets a 14-day free trial of the Growth plan without a card; when the trial ends the account moves to the Free plan unless you subscribe. Plan limits — client workspaces and team seats — are enforced as hard limits. We do not charge overage fees; if you need more, you move up a plan. Annual plans are refundable for the unused whole months if you ask within 60 days of the start of the term. Monthly plans can be cancelled at any time and run to the end of the period already paid for. We don't otherwise refund partial periods. We may change prices with 30 days' notice. A change takes effect at your next renewal, and you can cancel before then. Fees are exclusive of VAT and other taxes, which we add where required.
Migration assistance
Where we have offered migration assistance, we will help rebuild your existing templates and connect your integrations on Growth and above. It is a service we provide with reasonable care and effort — not a guaranteed outcome, and not a promise that every feature of another tool has a Lumina equivalent.
Your data
You own your data and the report templates you create. You grant us the limited licence needed to host and process that data in order to provide the service. We process personal data as described in our Privacy Policy and, where we act as your processor, under our Data Processing Agreement. You can export your reports and dashboards at any time. When you close your account we delete your workspace data within 30 days, except where we must keep records by law.
AI features
Lumina uses AI to draft summaries and insights from your connected data. AI output is a draft. It can be wrong, and you are responsible for reviewing it before sending anything to a client. Don't treat it as professional advice, and don't ship it unread.
Our intellectual property
We own the Lumina platform, its software, design and branding. These Terms grant you a right to use the service, not any ownership of it. Don't copy, reverse-engineer or attempt to derive the source of the platform, and don't remove our notices, except where the law says you may. If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them without obligation to you.
Availability
We work to keep Lumina available and reliable, but we do not offer a contractual uptime guarantee or service credits. The service may be unavailable during maintenance, or because of a failure at a provider we depend on. Data from connected platforms syncs on a schedule, and you can trigger a refresh on demand. We can't guarantee that a third-party provider's data will be complete, accurate or delivered on time.
Warranties and liability
The service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent permitted by law we exclude all implied warranties, including fitness for a particular purpose. Neither party excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot be excluded by law. Subject to that, we are not liable for loss of profit, loss of business, loss of goodwill or indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability arising out of these Terms is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits your rights if you are dealing as a consumer, though Lumina is intended for business use.
Suspension and termination
You can cancel at any time from your account settings. We may suspend or terminate your account if you materially breach these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy and don't fix it within 30 days of us asking, if your payment fails and stays unpaid, or immediately where continuing would break the law or endanger the service or other customers. On termination your right to use the service stops. Sections that by their nature should survive — your data, IP, liability and governing law — do.
Changes to the service and these Terms
We improve the platform continuously, and features may change. We won't materially reduce the core functionality of a plan you're paying for during your paid term without telling you. If we materially change these Terms we will email registered users at least 30 days before the change takes effect. Continuing to use Lumina after that means you accept the new Terms. If you don't accept them, cancel before they take effect.
Governing law
These Terms and any dispute arising from them are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction. If you have a problem, email legal@luminainsights.co first — most things are quicker to fix that way.
